Do I need a passport to hunt in Mexico?

Absolutely. Each guest carries a valid passport.

What kind of paperwork do I need to hunt in Mexico?

Once your hunt is booked, Mexico Outfitters Unlimited will provide all the necessary paperwork needed for U.S. citizens to trophy hunt whitetail deer in Mexico.

Customs & Immigration?

All U.S. and Mexican customs and immigration documents will be processed by Mexico Outfitters Unlimited for hunters. Customs and immigration paperwork for hunting purposes has been simplified and easy to process, making the border crossing trip quick. Once you book your trip, we will handle all the paperwork making your hunting experience enjoyable.

How many guns can I bring into Mexico?

Two rifles per hunter and 40 rounds of hunting ammunition per firearm are permitted by the Mexican government for each hunter to bring. MOU recommends anywhere from a .270 up to a .300 caliber hunting rifle for the trip. No rim fire ammo is allowed. Handguns are not allowed. Only guns registered on each hunter’s paperwork may be taken into Mexico.

How much ammo can I bring into Mexico?

No more than 40 rounds of hunting ammunition per firearm are permitted by the Mexican government for each hunter to bring.

Can I bring my buck into the US?

Mexico Outfitters Unlimited will cape and prep your animal for hunters to take home or to their taxidermist. Hide and horns will be crossed with hunter upon departure.

Is taxidermy available?

Taxidermy can be provided locally at hunters expense. MOU can ship your horns, cape, and mounts at your expense.

Can I take a personal vehicle(s) into Mexico?

Privately owned vehicles are allowed but are not needed. MOU will provide all transportation.

Travel time from border to hunting ranch?

All Coahuila ranches are less than one hour from the Texas-Mexico Border. Pickup point in Del Rio, Texas is approximately 5 miles from the border crossing point at Cd. Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. Sonora ranches are within an hour’s drive from the Hermosilla airport.

  • No ammunition other than what is registered on paperwork.
  • No handguns or firearms other than what is on paperwork.
  • No illegal substances.
  • No amounts of cash greater than $10,000.

Traveling to Coahuila, Mexico:

Coahuila hunting parties gather in Del Rio, Texas. Mexico Outfitters Unlimited provides all transportation. We cross the border into Acuña, Mexico and travel to ranches that are all within an hour’s drive from the border. Mexico Outfitters manages all entry paperwork and customs requirements during travel across the border.

Traveling to Sonora, Mexico:

Hunters travel to Hermosilla, Mexico by air and are met at the Hermosilla airport by Mexico Outfitters’ guides who handle all paperwork and importation of firearms. Hunters travel to hunting sites on ground transportation provided by Mexico Outfillers Unlimited.
